The third Annual General Meeting of the Koocanusa Village Community Association (formerly SCA) was held at the Koocanusa Village Marina on Sunday, August 27th at 10am.
118 votes were cast on a full agenda including adopting new bylaws for the updated BC Society Act and electing new directors. We express our congratulations to the new directors and our gratitude to those past and returning for their dedication and hard work.
All resolutions on the agenda were successfully completed, these included:
– The 2017/2018 budget was approved, membership fees remain at $100/lot/year
– The new BC Society Act Bylaws were accepted
– The new Constitution was accepted
– The name change to Koocanusa Village Community Association (KVCA) was accepted.
The new resolutions will not be officially enacted until they are reviewed and accepted by the BC Registrar and this will not occur until the KVCA is compliant in all areas of the new BC Societies Act.
Many questions were raised and answered regarding budget expense items and a substantial presentation on the status and mandate of the Volunteer Fire Department was delivered. From there the meeting moved on to a lengthy and well contested directors election.
With the final votes counted the KVCA Board Directors for the 2017/2018 term are:
